Where to Retire Magazine’s November / December 2011 issue features a focused column on its selection of Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley as one of the best areas in the US to move to when thinking of where to live, especially following retirement.  ….and they selected Palm Springs for all of the reasons that I considered prior to my move here to Palm Springs in 2000.  

The most important factors about moving to Palm Springs in 2000, which for me ‘hit the target at the center of the bulls’ eye’ and which today still remain focal about life in Palm Springs, are:

• Scenic Beauty - This desert oasis, with the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa Mountain Ranges prominently in view, captivates one’s heart and imagination.

• Warm and Sunny Weather - The incredible warm and sunny weather all year long is a daily event highlighted by our remarkable robin-egg blue, picture-perfect skies.  

• Outdoors Lifestyle - Attractions which were key to my decision to move to Palm Springs are featured in the ‘Where to Retire’ Magazine including the wide and diverse range of outdoor activities (e.g., State and National Parks such as Mount San Jacinto State Park and Joshua Tree National Park, golf, tennis, among many others). 

• Other Key Amenities – Three of these amenities are:  the proximity to several international airports starting with the Palm Springs International Airport, as well as Los Angeles’s LAX, and the Ontario and San Diego International Airports; entertainment venues and art – featuring the Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs International Film Festival and a plethora of art galleries; plus the ready access to a number of amazing, world-renown health care centers.
